The EPIC project’s aim is to improve the use of technology in both health and social care for the better health and well-being of people in Cornwall and–quite ambitiously–improve the Cornish economy through developing this sector. Its core is at the University of Plymouth with partners Creative England, Kernow Health CIC, Cornwall Partners in Care, and the Patients Association, with partial funding by the European Regional Development Fund. A business decision was made to abandon telehealth monitoring provided by NHS Kernow, whose statement is extensively cited by this article in Cornwall Live. Cornwall Council to terminate BT outsourcing deal
The High Court has ruled that Cornwall Council is within its rights to terminate the multi-million pound [grow_thumb image=”https://telecareaware.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Cornwall-Council.png” thumb_width=”150″ /]services outsourcing contract with BT because BT “did not provide … the service it had promised to the standard it had promised”. A press release on Legrand’s website and (in Spanish) on Neat’s website, both just published, confirm the forming of a joint venture between the two. This of course is the Legrand that took over Tynetec last year and Intervox in 2011, making it, they claim, now the “second-largest player in the promising assisted living market.” Neat’s products, distributed through Possum, have been finding favour across the UK because of their attractive prices.
